About This Game A serial killer is terrorizing the streets of Victorian London, and private investigator Sydney Emerson has hit a new low between finding lost dogs and receiving alleyway beatings. Explore the foggy streets of Victorian London in all its decadence and depravity, searching the slums, taverns, brothels and even Sydney’s abstract dreamscapes for clues, while meeting a host of interesting, insane and eccentrically British characters along the way.Features•A noir adventure laced with adult themes and dark humour.•A faithful recreation of Victorian London, from decadence to depravity.•Classic point and click gameplay in the vein of the LucasArts games of yore.•Explore Sydney’s surreal dream-world for clues.•Follow the trail of a killer, or drink until you vomit at the pub.•Original soundtrack blends film noir and traditional Victorian instruments. 7aa9394dea Title: The Slaughter: Act OneGenre: Adventure, IndieDeveloper:BrainchildPublisher:BrainchildRelease Date: 28 Jan, 2016 The Slaughter: Act One Activation Fix I like it, so far!. Weird game.... As someone who plays point&click games for its story, I quite enjoyed this game. The puzzles are adequately challenging for fans of point&click genre. I felt the art and the sound are used to create a convincing Victorian atmosphere. And the length is also fine for its price. I have been waiting a while for act two. I hope the developer gets around to it.. The puzzles and the story are not fun..... The story is great. A lot of David Lynch's influence in the dream sequences it seems. The graphics and style bring back nostalgia from the Lucas Art era, and the dialogs are just as or even more funny. That being said, the sound stops working if you minimize it. And the UI is appalling. The puzzles are pretty bland. The navigation system is worse than amateur (basically if there's an obstacle in the way instead of 1 click it will take several to get around). Also the character walks to the object just to describe it or to give the "this won't work" generic line. There is more good than bad in this game, I just hope the dev will polish it further in the next instalment.
